The Muscowpetung Prospect is 50,000 acres and is located just northeast of Regina, the capital city of Saskatchewan.
While there are no wells within the prospect area deep enough to intersect the potash bearing beds, Holter (1969) presents data on two wells located near the Muscowpetung Prospect. Additional well information was obtained from well logs. The relevant data are presented in the table below.

The potash beds in Saskatchewan are known to stretch for hundreds of kilometers. So the likelihood of potash bearing beds occurring within the prospect area are surmised by the presence of potash occurring in wells surrounding the prospect.
The Imperial Muscowpetung 1-9-21-16 well is within the eastern part of the Muscowpetung part of the prospect. Holter’s interpretation in Table 10.3 indicates that the Patience Lake Member is missing in the B.A. Qu'Appelle Hornung well. Where the Patience Lake Member is present, it is quite thick although the thickness varies. The Belle Plaine Member is missing in the Imperial Lumsden and Pheasant Sinclar PL Earl Grey wells and is effectively missing in the Imperial Muscowpetung well. Where the Belle Plaine Member has been tentatively identified on other logs, it is fairly thin. The Esterhazy Member is present in all wells and is generally more than 50 feet (15 meters) thick.
